Spring Beauty Picks: Topshop Macaroon Lipstick & Forever 21 Nailpolish

As Spring has approached I've been somewhat forced to shy away from my usual nail and lip colors. In the Winter my go-to color was a deep purple red, similar to the trademark Lorde lip color. Now that Spring is here I've decided my dark depressing colors need a bit of livening up! I've been reading everywhere recently that periwinkle is the official unofficial color of Spring. I've never been one to wear blue or purple, I gravitate more towards pinks, but I decided to go out of my comfort zone and buy products in the periwinkle tone. I had my nails done recently and I chose Essie's "Bikini So Teeny", which I absolutely adored! I think it's the first time in forever that I've worn blue nail polish, and I was surprised with how well the color went with my wardrobe. Since my manicure began chipping almost a day after I went in search of the same color, and found one relatively similar to it in Forever 21(In the color 'Light Blue') . Now I would just like to say this forever 21 nail polish by far exceeded my expectations. It has lasted for a week now without chipping at all, the color in my opinion is even nicer than the Essie one, and it was only $2.60!! It is definitely an amazing(and affordable!) must have for spring.

For Lip color I went for the lovely Topshop lips in "Macaroon". I've heard so many great things about the Topshop lipstick line so I decided to go for it even though it was a little costly (around $16). The color is extremely pretty, it's a soft orangey-pink that complements my olive complexion really well. The lipstick itself looks obnoxiously bright but it comes out as more of a sheen color, so it only slightly tints your lips. The texture is also nice, it doesn't dry out your lips or become cakey like some other lipstick brands. The only complaint I would have is that through the course of the day the lipstick gathers towards the inside of my lips and creates a little line of color there. It's hardly noticeable though, and I just wipe it off when I notice it happening. All in all I think this lipstick is a great investment because it's such a unique color that can go very wrong very easily, but Topshop has done it just right! So if you are looking to splurge on a pretty pink for the spring, definitely try Topshop lips in 'Macaroon'! (Also how adorable is the packing on these products?!)
