 I've put on my best suit and tie (collar clips actually) in honor of the end of the fall semester and final exams. Finally us college kids are free of hell week and can lay in our beds for the rest of winter! 

Finals week can take a toll on a student's mind, body, and unfortunately fashion sense. Dresses and blouses turn to sweat pants and tee-shirts and boots turn to uggs and sneakers. It's a disaster, even at FIT, but thank god everyone is in the same boat. 

The last day of classes I decided to wear makeup and decent clothes for the first time in weeks. I purchased my blazer from H&M for only $10! I had been wanting a blazer for a while now, they're great for business-y things but also can look cute with a pair of jeans and a white tee. I also wanted to show off my new collar accessory that my amazing friend Jordan made for me! She took earrings and pinned a necklace chain in-between them to create these beautiful collar clips, which added a feminine touch to this business-man look.

As this semester has progressed and it has gotten closer and closer to finals, I find myself putting on a lipstick almost every morning. The reason is simple; it quickly and easily pulls together any look. Lipstick takes two seconds to apply, but it feigns the appearance of effort for the overall look. Simply put; I'm lazy and lipstick is my go-to when I'm too groggy to properly put a ton of effort into my eye makeup or outfit. 

To adjust to my new makeup routine, I went shopping for some new shades. I found myself attracted to the Milani section in Harmon Face Values (mainly because they were among the cheapest). I've tried other drugstore brands, i.e. Cover Girl, Revlon, Rimmel, and none of them have really tickled my fancy (hehe). 

The second I swatched the Milani lipsticks I fell in love with them. They smell like pure magic, which is a feat for lipsticks considering most smell like gross chemicals. These little beauties also have amazing pigmentation and adorable packaging! They won't chap your lips but I wouldn't say they can replace your chapstick either. I would suggest putting on a layer of chapstick before applying them just to keep your lips fully moisturized. 

Although I plan to buy many more, I bought essentials colors first. I purchased a nice everyday pink (Nude Creme), a classic red (High Voltage), and a purple for my punk-ass roomie (Violet Volt). Currently on my wish list are;

1. "Naturally Chic" which is a mocha-kylie jenner-esque color

2."Cabaret Blend" a deep winter burgundy 

3. "Sweet Nectar" aka the coolest orange you've ever seen

4. "Flamingo Pose" an adorable candy pink

Last Sunday was a jeans and tee-shirt kind of day. My roommate and I got matching Brooklyn screen-printed tee's from this awesome brand called "Brooklyn Rock" and wanted to rock them on our lazy day. I always find that I never have enough tee-shirts with cool sayings - all of mine are either from volleyball or some random bank for some reason. No offense to them, but I don't think TD Bank would look all that badass paired with my leather jacket. Although with the right jacket, rolled up sleeves, and a red lip it may be possible.

Change never comes when it's desired. It comes just as you start to feel comfortable and safe. It syphons you into it's whirlwind and uproots you from all familiarity, then spits you out somewhere completely different.

 I've never been one to welcome change into my life. My Virgo tendencies lead me to avoid this "horrible" thing at all costs. Contrary to what I've always believed, I've recently learned that change doesn't have to be a negative thing. If life is stagnant, how can it ever improve? What I'm trying to say is; change can be for the better. Even if it seems awful, sometimes great things can result from it. 

In a few months my family and I are packing our bags and moving 3 hours away from our current home. It's scary, terrifying actually, but I promised myself that I will welcome it with open arms. I try to treat it like moving to New York for college; it was a huge change but the best thing that ever happened to me.

To fully embrace all the change in my life, I decided to switch things up in my look. Instead of the safety net that were my old black frames, I went to Warby Parker and purchased a pair of crystal glasses. I was nervous that the frames would look washed out or cheap, but I have fallen in love with the look of these.

Change can be terrifying, but if you keep an open mind to it something great just might happen. (Like DANIELLE BERNSTEIN  telling you she likes the glasses that you were afraid to wear out in public!!!)

As much as I would love to be a part of fashion week, unfortunately I have to settle for watching from the outside. Although watching also requires having an in...so I watch people watch other people? Basically my friends and I went around Soho and Lincoln Center and observed the beautiful chaos that is New York Fashion Week.

If you are like us, and want to be involved in NYFW, I suggest just walking around either of these places. Licoln Center provides some of the most interesting people watching, and you may even end up on a street style blog! Soho is also a great place to visit this time of year since the stores are doing all sorts of promotional events. We got free ice-cream, macarons, and -believe it or not- shoes!!! So just because you're not a designer, model, or insanely famous blogger doesn't mean you can't experience Fashion Week, all you have to do is get out there!

So as you may have guessed by the pictures and corny title…I saw Iggy Azalea today! My friends and I hiked down at 4 in the morning to wait online for the Today Show's free concert series. The concert took place in Rockefeller Center and, of course, we were dead last in the line. I never get lucky with these types of things, but I was still so grateful I even got the opportunity to see Iggy. All I have to say is that a zoom lens is a very useful investment for instances like this.

My outfit today was picked out a little blindly...aka I overslept and threw on the first thing I saw. The first thing I saw happened to be the new plaid dress I bought from the Forever 21 in Soho (I hadn't hung it up yet so it was at easy access). 

Even though I had zero time to pick out accessories or do my makeup, I still wanted to post this dress because I'm absolutely in love with the collar and pattern. My mom told me I looked like a catholic school girl, but who said their uniforms couldn't be cute?? For shoes I wore comfortable sneakers, since I would be standing for hours on end. Instead of a purse, I stuffed my camera and multiple lenses into this adorable, retro-ish, pink camera bag that I found in Florida. 

Also can we take a minute to appreciate Iggy's beauty and her gorgeous floral jumpsuit (and matching lipstick!!). Thanks for reading & hope you enjoyed!

Hello all! My plane just landed a few hours ago and I'm already back to my usual; eating and surfing the internet. Florida gave me enough sun to last a couple months, so I won't be leaving my room for a while. As most vacations are, it was extremely warm but beautiful and relaxing. It was nice to take a break from crazy New York and just lay in the sun for hours on end. The palm trees were also pretty therapeutic. 

If you're like me, vacation means no makeup, salty hair, and loose fitting clothes (to make room for all those delicious restaurant meals of course). For the most part I wore a pair of shorts and a tee-shirt, but on the rare occasion I felt like dressing up, I wore slightly fancier versions of that duo. 

The H&M shorts I'm wearing were my "I want to look cute but still be able to walk" shorts (jean shorts can get extremely uncomfortable). They were really comfortable due to the elastic waistband and flowy material, yet cute for all my touristy endeavors. I also purchased the roll neck top while getting goggles from a local Walmart, who knew Walmart had cute tops!? Anna and I also went on a shopping spree in Ross, which has the cheapest, cutest clothes we had ever seen. It was there and few other shops where I purchased about a thousand new sunnies (it's sort of an addiction). So if you're out to a theme park or just to the beach, try a pair of elastic-waist shorts with a cute top, believe me, you won't regret it!

After my interview I made a beeline to Topshop (for the first time ever, might I add!). They were having a huge sale and it was absolutely glorious. I got a ton of cute stuff that I've been eyeing forever, and never thought I'd have the chance to buy. After that I went the safe route and went to H&M to pick up a few basics I needed, like a comfy romper for the beach. Shopping in H&M in the city is confusing since there is one on basically every corner, and it completely screws with your internal GPS. The next day I popped into Zara and found a decently priced item (what a surprise!). It's the softest piece of clothing I've ever owned, I'll give them that. Next was Mango, which has really cute clothes for really decent prices. Then, finally, Muji! Oh and then I ordered a dress from Boohoo.

To sum it all up, I've been shopping…a lot. Every day I come home with a shopping bag in hand and to an angry mother at the door. Let's hope for my wallet's sake this doesn't happen again next week.
